UTokyo LAINAC is in College and Graduate School of Arts and Science, on Komaba Campus at The University of Tokyo. Its staff members mainly consist of researchers and graduate school students from the four humanity majors on Komaba Campus: Advanced Social and International Studies, Language and Information Sciences, Interdisciplinary Cultural Studies, and Area Studies. In addition to many of its staff members who specialize their research in area studies of Latin America and Iberia, experts of other area studies as well as the alums also take an active role in various activities. Our vision is to go beyond area studies and aim for an organization that can constantly offer inter-disciplinary and international activities, incorporating boundaries of multiple fields in humanities and social sciences.
